Asakusa, 2020
Media: Color pencil, Water color
This project was created in 2020, is a testament to the lasting impact of my 2018 excursion to Japan alongside my sister. Our exploration led us to the iconic Asakusa temple, a bastion of Japanese culture and architectural grandeur. Standing in awe of the temple's intricate design and historical significance, I felt compelled to capture the essence of that profound experience.
The decision to immortalize this moment through drawing stemmed from a desire to preserve not just the visual spectacle, but also the emotions and memories evoked by our time at the temple. As my pen traced the contours of the temple's silhouette and intricacies, I found myself transported back to the serene ambiance and cultural richness of Asakusa.
Through this project, I sought to encapsulate not just the physical beauty of the architecture, but also the sense of wonder and reverence that it inspired within me. Each stroke of the pen served as a homage to the profound impact of Japanese culture and the cherished memories forged during my journey. Ultimately, this drawing stands as a tribute to the enduring allure of travel and the transformative power of immersive cultural experiences.
