Here, the imagery diverges from traditional symbolism, opting instead to convey a potent sense of sacrifice and devotion. The substitution of a gun for a poison bottle imbues the scene with a visceral "killed by my lover" sentiment, as the protagonist lies amidst a bed of flowers, epitomizing the intensity of love and its consequences.
